Suburban Diaspora (SD) is an independent online literary journal that publishes fiction. We publish two issues of prose a year online with a focus on placeless writing: fiction without strong ties to place or setting. To take advantage of our digital home, we are interested in fiction of any length, including excerpts from novels, flash fiction, and anything or everything in between. We publish both emerging and established writers, and our tastes are on the side of the surreal and strange, but we’d love for you to send your best work our way no matter what its aesthetic.
SD was created as a happy counterpoint to the many regional journals and presses that exist. Our home is proudly in the digital space, and our allegiances lie with digital natives, literary nomads, and the creative miscellany. If you’re interested in submitting, see our submissions page on Submittable.
